Chocolate Peanut Butter Patti Cakes

Here's a new flavor of Patti Cakes, one of my all time favorite quick cookies.  This time in the much beloved combination of chocolate and peanut butter.  In less than twenty minutes (prep and baking time) you'll have the most delicious, moist brownie-like cookies.  Instant gratification!

I'm gifting these "biscuits" across the pond to my friend Marina who is celebrating her birthday today.  Happy Happy Birthday M!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Patti Cakes

Makes about nine 4" cookies (you'll yield more cookies if you make them smaller)

1 package (18.25 oz) Duncan Hines Devil's Food Cake Mix
1 large egg
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 tbsp water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine cake mix, egg, oil and 3 Tbsp. water in large mixer bowl and mix with rubber spatula  until smooth.  Stir in peanut butter chips and mix well.

With a #20 ice cream scoop (or 1/3 cup measure) portion out the cookie dough.  Bake for about 14 minutes, rotating baking sheets at the halfway point.

Let cool completely on the baking sheet.

  1. what do you mean "to rotate the baking sheets halfway? Aren't you just using one pan? Thank you for your response. Tammy

    1. I normally use two baking sheets because the cookies are quite large and will spread when baking. You may not be able to fit all your cookies on one baking sheet.

  2. Clearly, I have no choice but to make these. They caught my eye on Tastespotting, and MY NAME IS MARINA. I've only ever met one other Marina. AND - Its not MY birthday, but its my husbands! Weird! I'm so making these tomorrow.
